2026 Yarnbombing
Our inaugural Yarnbombing installation was a big success!
Part of the Fremont Creates celebration for April, 2026, was a Yarnbombing event, from April 2-30. We were excited with the participation throughout the entire Fremont Community.
Yarnbombing is a colorful and playful form of street art that covers public objects – trees, benches, railings, etc. with knitted or crocheted yarn pieces. Our goal was to create community yarnbombing, so each covered object is made up of multiple smaller crocheted or knitted squares, rectangles , circles, etc., attached to create a fun, colorful, and funky art display.
There were two Yarnbombing installations, April 2-30, 2026:
At the corner of Civic Center Drive and BART Way.
A tree in front of the Fremont Main Library at 2400 Stevenson Boulevard.
Ribbon Cutting
The Ribbon Cutting ceremony with Mayor Salwan, Washington Health CEO Kimberly Hartz, and other dignitaries, was held on on Friday, April 3, 10 am, at the corner of BART Way and Civic Center Drive.
